Lynne Currin
Lynne Currin was born in New Jersey, February 4th, 1948. Her artistic career began with a BA Degree in Art History obtained at University of South Carolina in 1976. She received a Masters in Art from Winthrop University in 1999 and since taught Art in South Carolina.
Currin uses a unique metal embossing in tin or copper/ green verdigris reflect her art background and life-long love of interior design. Each piece is an original. The metal is hand-tooled in low relief and mounted against fabric creating an interesting play of texture and light. Subjects include palm, pineapple, dog breeds, USC gamecock, Clemson tiger paw, horse, heron, flamingo, crab, bass/ mountain trout, dragonfly, frog, moose, martini/cocktail glass & artichoke with many new designs. Personal requests are always welcome.
Currin lives in Columbia, SC and supports the Gamecocks. Her palmetto trees with half moons are well sought over the state. Achievements include a copyright for original art process depicting State of South Carolina emblem-palmetto tree, University South Carolina symbol-gamecock.
