 Leslie K. Kuhn

Award-winning Georgia native Leslie Kuhn has been painting all her life. She is largely self taught, starting to paint as a child and realizing that it was one of the most important parts of her life.

After spending most of her life in Atlanta, GA, she moved to Reno, NV, in 2010. She has a studio in Franktown Corners in Reno and enjoys her artists friends she met after joining the Sierra Watercolor Society and The Latimer Art Club. Pastel is her passion, but she enjoys watercolor and collage.

Starting with a watercolor class in 1979, Kuhn studied with many nationally recognized teachers including Albert Handell, Sally Strand, Tom Lynch, Elsie Dresch, and many others. She has been a Signature Member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America since 1997.

Extensive travel to some of the world’s most beautiful gardens and countryside has had a powerful influence on her dramatic floral and pastoral works. Her artwork demonstrates a dynamic freshness, whether it be a painting about light or an abstraction of something seen in the grocery store. The free spirit of the Impressionist has also inspired her – from the bold, energetic colors she favors in oils and pastels, to the crisp fresh tones of her watercolors.

Kuhn is a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America in New York, Member of Excellence: The Atlanta Artists Center and the Southeastern Pastel Society. She also is an active member of the Hilton Head Art League, North Tahoe Artists, Tahoe City California, the Quinlan Art Center, and Art Station. Kuhn’s work hangs in homes and offices in Europe and the US.
