 Paolo Cordano

Paolo Cordano is one of the youngest but most accomplished artists in Peru. Born in Arequipa in 1971, Paolo is on a constant quest for new techniques to express his vision of nature and experiences of life. Surrounded by a family that knew how to generate an environment where artistic inclinations existed naturally, Paolo manifested his curiosity and interest towards color and shape from an early age, having the drive to express himself through them, this being the stage in which he constructed the bases that would later come to be his unique artistic style.

Following his search in pictorial and sculptural art, each time he obtains greater dominion in both areas, achieving an artistic, original and solid proposal in aesthetics. Cordano uses multiple techniques fusing cultures and blending predominate, with characters typical of his world, an environment full of magic and innovating and constant exploration.

The collection of Paolo Cordano’s works expressed through his abstract characters and motifs that make up his universe are a blend of playfulness and magic. His world is inhabited with beings and shapes that gaze and seduce us with their colors, connecting us with nature and our memories. It is in this way that the artist delivers the pieces to us. The characters make them themselves noticed, engaging us with their looks and open arms, wishing us all that is good with the warmth of that orange background which the artist associates with youth and happiness.

The characters move together with internal rhythm in a dance that makes the soul vibrates with its light and shapes, as if emerging from the feigned reality of a dream.

His trips around the globe have inspired him to find the similarities, differences, and points of convergence between the world’s cultures, thus allowing him to blend those with the historically artists great wealth of Peru. His works are already in collections around the world and exhibited in galleries across America and Europe. The last few years of travel, Paolo has shown solo in 43 galleries and over 20 international exhibitions in Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, USA, Italy, and Germany.
